INTEGRATIVE BODYWORK & SOMATIC EXPERIENCING

SESSIONS

Somatic Experiencing

Somatic Experiencing (SE) is a client-centered approach to healing trauma that honors the wisdom of the nervous system by building resiliency and self-awareness, particularly awareness of bodily sensations.  Dialogue, non-invasive touch, and exploration of movement impulses may be used during session work.

Trauma occurs and becomes symptomatic when the nervous system is overwhelmed and cannot mobilize effectively. SE may be helpful to you if you have been in accidents, experienced sexual or relational trauma, have a history of prenatal or birth trauma, or you notice that you are struggling with pain, anxiety, depression, or difficulty in relationships. I will work gently with you to create a safe container and support you towards greater ease, resilience, well-being, and freedom.

Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy

Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy supports nervous system health and is based on honoring the client's self-healing process. The pacing is slow and the touch is typically still, rather than moving as in massage.  This gentle but powerful work is based on listening to your body through my hands, facilitating the release of resistance patterns, and supporting deeper layers of balance, integration, and resourcing. My approach to all sessions is informed by an awareness of trauma and supported by my training in Somatic Experiencing.

Craniosacral sessions can relieve emotional stress as well as provide relief for a number of conditions including birth-related trauma, accident recovery, and chronic pain. Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy can provide nurturing and support during pregnancy and the postpartum period, and can benefit newborns after birth as well.

Pre and Perinatal Integration and Support

All session work is informed and supported by my training with Ray Castellino, Mary Jackson, and Tara Blasco in Pre & Perinatal integration and support.  Our bodies and nervous systems hold and remember the somatic and emotional imprints of our earliest experiences during gestation, birth, and first several years of life, and these imprints can have a profound effect on our physical and mental health. Within a supportive container and using the principles that guide this work, it is possible to re-negotiate these early imprints and access more empowerment, freedom, and well-being.

"The main intention of treatment is to find, support, and facilitate expressions of health. When the expression of the Breath of Life is restored in areas of disorder, natural motion resumes and health is the result. In this process, discordant parts of ourselves, which have become separated from their source of order and vitality, are brought back into relationship with the whole. We literally become more of who we are.”
